Bocklund named MIAC Player of Week

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College goalkeeper Diana Bocklund (FY, Mahtomedi, Minn.) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Bocklund did not allow a goal, while collecting 13 saves, in 155 minutes of play during the Auggies' games in the past week. In Augsburg's 2-1 loss to Bethel last Tuesday, Bocklund recorded three saves while playing in the first half. In Saturday's 0-0, two-overtime tie at MIAC playoff contender Carleton, Bocklund played the full 110 minutes, recording 10 saves for her third collegiate shutout.

On the season, Bocklund has played 11 games in goal with three shutouts and a 1.38 goals-against-average. Her 79 saves this season ranks second among MIAC goalkeepers in overall statistics.

Augsburg, now 3-6-5 overall and 1-5-2 in MIAC play, hosts Wisconsin-River Falls on Wednesday (10/21) at 7:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
