ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's swimming and diving team finished in third place at the Augsburg pentathlon on Saturday morning at the St. Kate's Butler Center Pool. The Auggies third place finish is a two place improvement from their finish a season ago.

Leading the Auggies was newcomer Cassandra Steen, who finished in 18th place with 124 points. Steen recorded a 22nd place finish in the 100 butterfly, a 17th place finish in the 100 back, an 18th place finish in the 100 IM and a 15th place finish in the 100 breaststroke.

Finishing next for the Auggies was Laura Moe (SO, Clackamas, Ore.), who finished in 22nd place followed closely by Jullie Zollner (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) and #Daniela Bonilla# (FY, Shakopee, Minn.) in 24th and 26th places respectively.

Recording the Auggies highest finish on the day was Zollner, who finished in 11th place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:13.25. Zollner's time was just two seconds shy of breaking into the Auggies top-10 in school history in that event.

The Auggies return to action on Saturday (10/31) when they travel to Northfield to take part in the St. Olaf/Carleton Relays.
