GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Augsburg College women's cross country team recorded three personal-best and one season-best time as the Auggies ran to a 25th place finish at the 2009 NCAA Division III Central Regional hosted by Grinell College (Iowa) on Saturday.
Augsburg was led by
Jennifer Lovering (SR, Bemidji, Minn.), who finished in 105th place, recording a time of 24:41.4, cutting over a minute off her time from the MIAC Championships two weeks ago. The next finisher for Augsburg was
Kacie Bahr (SO, Brainerd, Minn.), who crossed the line in 26:18.3, setting a season-best time by over a minute. Finishing third for the Auggies was
Jennifer Pulscher (SO, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS), who recorded at time of 27:07.5.
Newcomer
Adrienne Young (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS), was the fourth runner for the Auggies recording a season-best time of 30:39.0, cutting nearly a minute off her previous-best time and marking her fourth consecutive 6K race with a faster time.
Rounding out the top six for Augsburg was
Phoebe Novitsky (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) and
Erika Coe (FY, Roseville, Minn.), who finished in 31:20.4 and 31:41.0 respectively. Novitsky and Coe's times were an improvement of more than a minute and a half upon their previous personal-best times.
The NCAA Division III Central Regional marks the final meet of the season for the Augsburg women's cross country team. The Auggies will graduate two, while returning five runners for next season.
