Haglund finishes 68th at NCAA Championships

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Augsburg's Brent Haglund (SR, Fridley, Minn.) claimed a 68th-place finish at the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College. Haglund posted a time of 26:31.7 over the 8,000-meter course. The NCAA showing was the second consecutive national cross country appearance for Haglund.

Haglund, who placed ninth at the MIAC meet and fifth at the Central Regionals, closed out his cross country career as the Augsburg College school record holder at the 8,000-meter distance with a time of 25:05.6, set at the UW-La Crosse Invitational earlier this season. Haglund was a two-time All-MIAC honoree and a two-time all-region performer for Augsburg College.

Ricky Flynn of Lynchburg (Va.) won the individual race (25:09.8) and North Central (Ill.) walked away with the team championship over Williams (Mass.) and Allegheny (Pa.).
