MIAC Men's Cross Country Awards
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Augsburg men's cross country runners Brent Haglund (SR, Fridley, Minn.) and Ben Rodriguez (SO, Buffalo, Minn.) earned MIAC all-conference honors it was announced today by the conference office.
Haglund earned his second-consecutive All-MIAC honor with his ninth-place finish at the 2009 MIAC Championships. Haglund set the Augsburg school record earlier this season at the UW-La Crosse Invitational with a time of 25:05.6. Haglund was also selected to the 2009 MIAC All-Sportsmanship team. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
Rodriguez earned his first all-conference honor at the 2009 Championships, with and 11th-place finish. Rodriguez posted a time of 26:26.9, moving up 39 places from his 2008 finish. Rodriguez has a personal and season-best time of 26:16.3, which he recorded at the UW-La Crosse Invitational.
The Auggies return to action on Saturday (11/14) when they travel to Grinell, Iowa to take part in the NCAA Div. III Central Regional.
