Minneapolis (3/18/09) - Augsburg's Nate Alm (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) was selected to the D3hoops.com All-West Region Third Team it was announced recently. Alm joined four other MIAC players in earning all-region honors.

For Alm, this was his first all-region honor after earning All-MIAC honors earlier this season.  Alm was one of only four MIAC players to average at least 10.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per-game in overall play, as he stood eighth among MIAC players in overall scoring (team-high 13.4 ppg) and third in rebounding (9.1 rpg). Alm also stood ninth among MIAC players in overall field-goal percentage (.523), fourth in free-throw percentage (.846) and fifth in blocked shots (24, 0.89 per-game). In league games-only, Alm stood sixth in scoring (14.4 ppg) and fourth in rebounding (9.5 rpg), while standing 10th in field-goal percentage (.530), sixth in free-throw percentage (.838) and fourth in blocked shots (19, 0.95 bpg).

In his second season at Augsburg after transferring from Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Alm finished his Auggie years with 634 points (12.2 ppg) and 420 rebounds, with his 8.1 rebounds per-game ranking him ninth in school history in the category. His .540 Auggie career field-goal percentage is fifth-best in school history, and his .818 career free-throw percentage is also fifth-best. His .846 free-throw percentage this season was the fifth-best in a single season in school history, while his 247 rebounds and 9.1 rebounds per-game were both sixth-best.
