MENOMONIE, Wis. --
Tony Vanyo (JR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) shot a 4-over-par 75 to finish eighth overall, as the Augsburg College men's golf team finished sixth at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devil Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Chippewa Valley Golf Club.
In addition to Vanyo's 75, Augsburg's
Colby Anderson (SR, Luverne, Minn.) also shot in the 70s for the Auggies, with an 8-over-par 79 on the par-71, 6,327-yard Chippewa Valley course, tying for 17th in the 44-player field.
Augsburg's varsity shot a 319 total to place sixth in the five-school, nine-team field, while the Augsburg junior varsity shot 334 to place eighth.
Brian Deuel (FY, Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) shot 80 to tie for 21st, leading the Augsburg JV. Five other Auggies shot in the 80s --
Jason Henning (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn.) shot 81,
Sam Ringstad (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) shot 82,
Tucker Williams (FY, Roseville, Minn.) and
Alex Umland (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) shot 84 each, and
Matt Bendzick (FY, Chaska, Minn.) shot 88.
Joel Kociemba (SO, Andover, Minn./St. Francis HS) shot 90 and
Brett Wilday (SO, Littleton, Colo./Heritage HS) shot 93.
