Auggie men's golf 11th at Gustavus

JORDAN, Minn. -- Tony Vanyo (JR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) shot a three-round total of 235 to finish 21st overall, leading the Augsburg College men's golf team to a 11th-place finish at the Gustavus Adolphus College Bobby Krig Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

Augsburg finished with a 54-hole total of 970 (310-320-340) to finish 11th in the 13-school, 16-team tournament. Monday's 36 holes were played at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn., with Tuesday's 18 holes played at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.

Colby Anderson (SR, Luverne, Minn.) and Jason Henning (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn.) each finished with three-round totals of 243 to tie for 43rd in the 84-player field, with Henning recording the low round for the Auggies with an opening-round 74 on Monday.

Brian Deuel (FY, Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) shot 253 to tie for 67th, with Alex Umland (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) shooting 255 to place 73rd.

Augsburg competes at the St. John's Invitational on Sunday (4/26) at the Monticello Country Club.
