RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. --
Caroline Senungi (FY, Shoreview, Minn. / Mounds View HS) led Augsburg with a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 15.69 seconds as the Auggies claimed a ninth place finish at the Macalester Women's Invitational on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. Senungi's time currently ranks her third in the conference in the event.

Whitney Holman (JR, New Hope, Minn. / Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) also had a strong showing for the Auggies, claiming two top ten finishes. Holman finished fourth in the 100 meters in a time of 13.19 seconds and claimed an eighth place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 27.32. Holman is currently ranked in the top nine in the MIAC in both events. Hurdler
Amy Jo Opsal (FY, Mankato, Minn. / St. Clair HS) also recorded a top ten finish for the Auggies, posting a ninth place finish with a 1:13.01 clocking in the 400 meter hurdles.
The Auggies also had five other season-best performances on the day. Leading the way was the 4x400 meter relay team of Senungi,
Kacie Bahr (FY, Brainerd, Minn. / Brainerd HS), Opsal and
Katie Vrieze (SO, Richfield, Minn. / Richfield HS), who finished fifth with a time of 4:20.01. Jumpers
Kristin Bunge (FY, Preston, Minn. / Fillmore Central HS) and
Kennitra Wilson (FY, Minneapolis / South HS) both hit season-best marks in the long jump, finishing 10th and 11th respectively. Rounding out the top performances for the Auggies were
Sadie Dietrich (SR, Luverne, Minn. / Luverne HS) and
Jennifer Pulscher (FY, Colorado Springs, Colo. / Liberty HS), who both recorded season-best times in the 400 and 800 meters respectively.
As a team, Augsburg recorded 18 team points, to finish ninth out of 11 teams in the meet. The Augsburg women's track and field team returns to action on Wednesday (4/29) at the St. Thomas Twilight Meet.
