RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. (4/29/09) -- Katie Vrieze (SO, Richfield, Minn. / Richfield HS) claimed pair of top-10 finishes to lead the Auggies at the Tommie Twilight on cold and rainy afternoon in St. Paul. Vrieze finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.32 and claimed a 10th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.50.

Teammate Whitney Holman (JR, New Hope, Minn. / Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) also qualified for finals in the 100 with a time of 13.20 but pulled-out of the race due to injury. Kristin Bunge (FY, Preston, Minn. / Fillmore Central HS) also had a good day for the Auggies claiming 10th and 12th-place finishes in the triple jump and long jump respectively.

Other top 20 finishes for the Auggies included a 17th place finish by Amy Jo Opsal (Mankato, Minn. / St. Clair HS) in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:11.40 and an 18th place finish in the shot put by Erin Leyden (SO, Glen Ellyn, Ill. / Glenbard South HS), who recorded a distance of 9.64 meters (31-7.50).

The Auggies return to action on Friday (5/1) at the Hamline University Meet of the Unsaintly.
