ST. PAUL, Minn. (5/2/09) -- Katie Vrieze (SO, Richfield, Minn. / Richfield HS) and Caroline Senungi (FY, Shoreview, Minn. / Mounds View HS) both set season-best marks to lead the Auggies at the Hamline University Meet of the UnSaintly on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul.

Vrieze recorded season-best times in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes, while Senungi set a season-best mark in the prelims of the 100-meter hurdles. Vrieze crossed the finish line 13.04 seconds in the 100 and 26.47 seconds in the 200, good for seventh and ninth places respectively. Senungi finished seventh in the 100 hurdles with a 15.92 clocking, currently ranking her second in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Other top finishers for the Auggies include Kristen Bunge (FY, Preston, Minn. / Fillmore Central HS) with a ninth place finish in the triple jump, Amy Jo Opsal (FY, Mankato, Minn. / St. Clair HS) with an 11th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and Whitney Holman (JR, New Hope, Minn. / Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) with a 12th place finish in the 200-meters.

The Augsburg women's track and field team returns to action on Friday and Saturday (5/8-9) at the MIAC Championships in Northfield, Minn. Schedules and other meet information can be found on the MIAC Championship website.
