NORTHFIELD, Minn. --
Serenae Levine (SO, Eden Prairie, Minn.) led Augsburg College with 12 points and five rebounds, but an early deficit cost the Auggies in a 58-40 loss at St. Olaf College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at the Skoglund Center.
Levine was the lone Augsburg (1-7 overall, 1-4 MIAC) player to score in double figures.
Tracee Schrank (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area HS) scored seven points with three rebounds, and
Shannon Renne (JR, Nicollet, Minn.) scored six points with two steals.
St. Olaf (1-7 overall, 1-4 MIAC) scored the first eight points of the game over the opening 4:03 and never trailed in the game, hitting 41.5 percent (22-of-53) from the field compared to 25.0 percent (13-of-52) for the Auggies. St. Olaf also outrebounded the Auggies by a 47-34 margin. The Oles led 22-16 at halftime and pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 21 points.
Terin Euerle and Erin Haglund led the Oles with 12 points apiece, with Euerle adding a game-high 11 rebounds. Eileen O'Donoghue and Mackenzie Wolter had seven points each.
For Augsburg,
Lexi Thompson (SO, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) had a team-best three steals with five rebounds.
Megan Hambleton (JR, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) scored five points with two steals.
Brittany Dyshaw (FY, Eagan, Minn.) had five rebounds and four points.
Augsburg reyturns to MIAC play on Monday (1/4) at 5:45 p.m., hosting Concordia-Moorhead at SI Melby Hall.
