ST. PAUL, Minn. --
Kelsey Hlavac (FY, Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) recorded two top-10 finishes, as the Augsburg College women's swimming team opened its season with the Augsburg Pentathlon on Saturday morning at St. Catherine University's Butler Center pool.
In its first meet of the season, Augsburg had just two swimmers compete at the pentathlon, which featured five 100-yard events. St. Catherine, St. Mary's and Hamline also competed in the meet.
Hlavac finished ninth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.93, 10th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:14.18, and 16th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:15.14.
Samantha Hebzynski (SO, Maple Grove, Minn.) competed in each of the five events, finishing 15th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:17.32, 20th in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:19.91, 20th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:28.25, 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.86, and 24th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:22.97.
Augsburg will compete at the St. Thomas Relays next Saturday (10/30) at 11 a.m.
