MINNEAPOLIS -- An action photo from Saturday's Augsburg-at-Bethel football game will be published in this week's issue of Sports Illustrated, available at newsstands on Thursday.

The photo, shot by Twin Cities photographer Tom Dahlin, is of Auggie quarterback Muneer Al-Hameed (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Minneapolis Washburn HS) throwing a pass in Saturday's game, played in heavy snow conditions at Bethel's stadium in Arden Hills, Minn. Members of the Auggie offensive line block for Al-Hameed. The photo will be in the "Leading Off" section in the front of the magazine, which features some of the best sports action photos of the week.

Dahlin is the father of Augsburg football and track and field alumnus Jon Dahlin '05. His photos have been published numerous times in Sports Illustrated and other magazines, including an SI cover shot (Sept. 27, 2010 issue) of Minnesota Twins slugger Jim Thome hitting a home run at Target Field.

This is the second time in recent years that a photo of Augsburg athletes in action has been published in Sports Illustrated. In 2007, a photo of wrestler Marcus LeVesseur winning his unprecedented fourth NCAA Division III national title was in the magazine's "Leading Off" section.
