Schrank scores a career-high 16 but Augsburg falls to Carleton

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Tracee Schrank (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area HS) scored a career-high 16 points as Augsburg fell to Carleton College 86-68 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Carleton's West Gymnasium.

Augsburg (3-20 overall, 3-17 MIAC) was led by Schrank's 16-point performance, which included a 6-for-8 afternoon at the free throw line. She also added three rebounds and three steals for the Auggies. Lexi Thompson (SO, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) and Brittany Dyshaw (FY, Eagan, Minn.) both had great afternoon's for the Auggies, each scoring 10 points and adding eight rebounds.

Carleton (5-18 overall, 5-15 MIAC) was led by Ally Weaver, who scored a game-high 22 points, adding five rebounds and a game-high six steals.

The game against the Auggies and the Knights was fairly evenly matched statistically with Augsburg shooting 34.6 percent (27-of-78), while the Knights converted on 37.7 percent of their shots (23-of-61). Augsburg claimed a narrow 47-44 advantage on the boards and was able to outscore the Knights 42-18 in points in the paint. The difference in the game came down to shooting at the free throw line and beyond the arc. Carleton was able to convert on 8-of-23 from beyond the arc and 32-of-36 from the free throw line, while Augsburg was only able to hit 1-of-14 from three-point range and 13-of-18 from the charity stripe.

Augsburg and Carleton both return to action on Wednesday (2/16) with Augsburg hosting Bethel and Carleton hosting Macalester.
