MEET RESULTS
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Augsburg's
Whitney Holman (SR, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS),
Shanek Telphia (FY, Chicago, Ill./Gage Park HS) and
Katie Vrieze (JR, Richfield, Minn.) finished first, second and fifth respectively in the 55-meter dash to lead the Auggies at the Bethel Invitational on Saturday.
Holman claimed top honors in the 55-meter dash with a 7.36 clocking, while Telphia was just behind with a time of 7.40 seconds. Holman and Tephia's times are the top two times in the MIAC in that event. Vrieze continued the strength of the Auggie sprinters, claiming fifth-place honors with a time of 7.66 seconds to make it three top-five finishes for the Auggies in the 55-meter dash.
The 1,600-meter relay team of Telphia,
Kacie Bahr (SO, Brainerd, Minn.),
Chelsey Rice (JR, Foreston, Minn./Milaca High School), and Vreize also took home top honors for the Auggies, recording a season-best time of 4:23.38.
In the middle distances,
Jennifer Pulscher (SO, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS) led the Auggies, finishing first in the 800 meter run (2:43.38) and fourth in the mile (5:58.11).
Caroline Senungi (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) led Augsburg in the hurdles, finishing second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.01 seconds. Senungi's time currently ranks fifth on the conference performance list.
Rounding out the top performances for Augsburg were Holman and Vrieze, who finished fourth and sixth in the 200-meter dash with times of 27.14 and 27.48 respectively.
Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (2/13) when it travels to Northfield, Minn. to take part in the Carleton College Meet of Hearts
