TOURNAMENT STATISTICS
JANESVILLE, Wis. --
Joel Kociemba (SR, Andover, Minn./St. Francis HS) shot the best individual 18-hole round of the tournament with a second-round 70, ending up tied for 14th overall to lead the Augsburg College men's golf team at the Culver's Edgewood College Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Glen Erin Golf Club.
After shooting an 85 in Friday's round, Kociemba shot a 1-under-par 70 in the second round to finish tied for 14th in the 118-golfer field with a 155 total.
As a team, Augsburg placed 12th in the 18-school, 23-team tournament with a 36-hole total of 651 (339-312). The second-round team total of 312 was the sixth-best team score among all the teams on Saturday.
Chris Tobkin (SO, WIllmar, Minn./New London-Spicer HS) finished tied for 19th in the individual race with a two-day 157 (80-77), while
Alex Umland (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) scored 171,
Brian Deuel (JR, Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) shot 174 and
Jason Henning (SR, Coon Rapids, Minn.) shot 175.
Competing as individuals,
Zach Johnson (SO, Sartell, Minn.) finished 33rd overall with a 161 total, while
Cole Stoney (FY, Lancaster, Wis.) shot 166.
Augsburg returns to action next Saturday and Sunday (9/11-12), hosting the Augsburg Fall Invitational at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minn.
