PERHAM, Minn. -- Zach Molitor (SR, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) scored two wins over ranked opponents at 174 pounds, claiming his 100th career win and leading the Augsburg College wrestling team at the Minnesota Duals meet on Friday evening at Prairie Winds Middle School.

Augsburg (7-4), the No. 3-ranked team in the latest Division III national rankings, dropped a 26-11 decision to No. 7-ranked Concordia-Moorhead in the opening match, but scored two victories -- a 36-10 triumph over St. Olaf and a 20-19 win over No. 6-ranked St. John's.

Friday's Minnesota Duals marked the first time that the four Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools that sponsor wrestling have met at one site for a dual event since 2004, when the final MIAC Team Duals were held. Augsburg is now 194-4 against MIAC schools since the 1975-76 season.

Molitor, ranked No. 2 nationally at 174, scored a 12-10 overtime win over Concordia's No. 5-ranked Ross Dankers. He claimed a 12-1, major-decision triumph over St. Olaf's Joseph Pesta, then topped No. 4-ranked Matt Pfarr of St. John's 6-1, improving to 19-2 on the season and 100-29 in his career. A two-time All-American at Augsburg who transferred after his first season at Division I North Dakota State, Molitor is now 82-16 in his three seasons at Augsburg.

No. 10-ranked heavyweight Chad Johnson (FY, Ferryville, Wis./De Soto HS) claimed two big wins, a third-period, 16-0 technical fall win against St. Olaf, and the match-clinching 9-0, major-decision victory over John Linn of St. John's in the finale. Johnson is now 15-7 on the season.

The Auggies' four other ranked wrestlers in competition on Friday each went 2-1 on the day -- No. 5-ranked 125-pounder Josh Roberts (SO, Grand Forks, N.D./Central HS), No. 3-ranked 149-pounder Tony Valek (JR, Belle Plaine, Minn./Scott West), No. 5-ranked 165-pounder Orlando Ponce (JR, Hialeah, Fla./Hialeah-Miami Lakes HS) and No. 6-ranked 184-pounder Brad Baus (JR, Mukwonago, Wis.).

Baus had the quickest pin of the evening -- a 20-second pin of St. Olaf's Andrew Rudd -- while also scoring a 3-1 win over No. 7-ranked Dustin Baxter of St. John's to improve to 22-6 on the season.

Valek scored an 11-1, major-decision win over Concordia's Jake Long and a 1:33 pin of St. Olaf's Leo Suarez, but was upset 6-1 by St. John's No. 4-ranked Minga Batsukh. Valek is now 24-3 on the year. Ponce, now 19-5, scored a major-decision win and an 8-3 win before falling 7-3 to top-ranked Matt Baarson of St. John's.

Boyd Suparat (SO, North Branch, Minn.) scored two victories for the Auggies, including a crucial 15-6, major-decision victory over the Johnnies' Chad Henle at 133, improving to 17-9 on the season.

Augsburg returns to action next Friday (2/4) at 7:30 p.m., hosting top-ranked Wartburg (Iowa) at Si Melby Hall.
