NORTHFIELD, Minn. --
Serenae Levine (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) nearly posted a rare triple-double, recording nine points, nine rebounds and eight assists as she led the Augsburg College women' s basketball team in a 75-69 loss to St. Olaf College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Monday night at the Skoglund Center.
Brittany Dyshaw (SO, Eagan, Minn.) and
Tracee Schrank (SO, Reedsburg, Wis.) posted 18 and 14 points respectively and each collected four rebounds and two assists.
Lexi Thompson (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) also had a solid night off the bench for Augsburg collecting eight points, five rebounds and three assists.
St. Olaf was led by Terin Euerle, who posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, converting on 6-of-8 from the field and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Augsburg played a solid first half of basketball, offensively connecting on 43.8 percent (14-of-32) from the field, while the Auggie defense held the Oles to 20.7 percent (6-of-29) shooting. Augsburg started the game on an 7-0 run and never trailed for the remainder of the half. The Auggies used a 19-4 run over a 5:17 span to build Augsburg's largest lead of the evening, an 18-point advantage with 2:45 to play in the first half.
St. Olaf regrouped at the intermission and came out on fire in the second half. The hot-shooting Oles were able to chip away the Augsburg lead and finally overcame the Auggies, growing their lead to double-digits. Augsburg put together a 9-1 run to bring the score to 69-68 with 46 seconds remaining but St. Olaf was able to hit 4-of-5 from the free throw line to complete the come-from-behind victory.
Augsburg and St. Olaf both return to action on Wednesday with Augsburg hosting Concordia in a men's and women's doubleheader and St. Olaf hosting St. Mary's.
