MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Jon Barrick (FY, Litchfield, Minn.) and Joel Sauer (SR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) scored third-period goals for Augsburg College, but the Auggies weren't able to overcome a 3-0 second-period deficit in a 4-2 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in a nonconference men's hockey game on Friday night at the Dunn County Ice Arena.

The Blue Devils built a 3-0 lead after two periods, but Augsburg got on the scoreboard at the 1:50 mark of the third period, as Barrick scored his first collegiate goal, assisted by John Lennartson (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) and Tedd Falk (JR, Mequon, Wis./Homestead HS).

The Auggies cut the lead to 3-2 at the 13:15 mark, with Sauer scoring his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Jim Jensen (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Osseo HS) and Bryan Frischmann (SR, Rochester, Minn./Century HS). But the Blue Devils clinched the win with an empty-net goal with 1:03 left.

Both teams had 36 shots on goal in the game. Augsburg goalie Justin Lochner (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 32 saves, while Wisconsin-Stout goalie Nick Hopper had 34 saves.
