MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College football tight end
Adam Carl (SO, Eagan, Minn.) was named to the
D3football.com national Team of the Week for his efforts in Augsburg's victory over Macalester, it was announced this week.
Carl set career highs with 10 receptions for 103 yards and two scores in
Augsburg's 31-23 victory over Macalester on Saturday at Edor Nelson Field. It was his first 100-yard receiving game of his career. He caught a five-yard touchdown pass just before halftime and put the Auggies in front for good with a seven-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter.
On the year, Carl leads the Auggies in receptions (43), while standing second in receiving yards (484) and receiving touchdowns (three). Carl stands third among MIAC players (overall statistics) in receptions per-game (5.38) and sixth in receiving yards per-game (60.5), both numbers tops among MIAC tight ends.

D3football.com, a national site that covers NCAA Division III football. Carl is the third Auggie selected to the national team this season; defensive lineman
Edmond Smith (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./North HS) was
named to the Team of the Week for his 16-tackle effort in Augsburg's 35-14 win over Carleton on Oct. 1, and defensive back
Tyler Phillips (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) was
named to the Team of the Week after his 13-tackle performance in Augsburg's 32-31 win at St. John's on Sept. 24.
Augsburg is now 5-3 overall, 3-3 in MIAC play. The Auggies travel to St. Peter, Minn., to face Gustavus Adolphus College this Saturday (11/5) at 1 p.m., and close the season hosting Bethel University at the Metrodome in Minneapolis on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
