Brianna Schulz (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) collected 41 saves in goal for Augsburg College, but the Auggies fell 9-0 to visiting Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.
Allie Schwab (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) scored four goals and added an assist for a five-point night for Gustavus (7-0-0 overall, 5-0-0 MIAC), the No. 7-ranked team in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online Division III national poll. Courtney Boucher (FY, Hastings, Minn.), Mollie Carroll (SR, Eagan, Minn.) and Kayla Ingbretson (JR, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) each had a goal and two assists, and Jess Harren (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) and Jenna Christensen (JR, Albert Lea, Minn.) also scored goals for the Gusties.
Gustavus outshot Augsburg (3-3-1 overall, 2-3-0 MIAC) by a 50-6 margin en route to the victory and converted four power-play goals in seven opportunities. Schulz had a career-high 41 saves in goal for the Auggies.
Danielle Justice (SR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) and Marah Sobczak (JR, Stillwater, Minn.) had three saves each in goal for the Gusties.
Kendall Christian (FY, Moorhead, Minn.) and
Jessica Larkin (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had two shots each for Augsburg, while
Erica Berthold (JR, Issaquah, Wash.) and
Rachel Hennessy (FY, Williston, N.D.) each had a shot on-goal.
The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (12/3) at 2 p.m. at Gustavus.
