The Gusties were able to hit a pair of free throws to extend their lead to 81-78 but
Andy Seidlitz (SO, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) converted a layup on the next possession to bring the Auggies back within one. Gustavus hit 1-of-2 on the next trip to the free throw line to go up 82-80, leaving the Auggies seven seconds on the clock. Augsburg was not able to get a good look at the basket and Gustavus hung on for the win.
For the game, Augsburg shot 46.9 percent (30-of-64) from the field, while the Gusties converted on 55.0 percent (33-of-60) of their shots.
