MINNEAPOLIS -- Kelsey Hlavac (FY, Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) swam three of the fastest individual performances in Augsburg College women's swimming history, as the Auggies claimed a 10th-place finish at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, held from Thursday to Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Hlavac recorded the second-fastest times in school history in three events -- the 500-yard freestyle (5:43.30) on Thursday, the 200-yard backstroke (2:31.51) on Saturday morning and the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:28.45) on Saturday afternoon. Her 1,650 freestyle time smashed nearly 37 seconds off her previous personal-best, while her 500 freestyle time marked a seven-second improvement and her 200 backstroke time was a four-second improvement.

Teammate Samantha Hebzynski (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) also competed in three individual events for the Auggies -- the 500-yard freestyle (6:09.75) on Thursday, the 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.30) on Friday and the 200-yard backstroke (2:34.26) on Saturday.

The two Auggies were joined by teammates Dustina Granlund (FY, St. Paul, Minn.) and Carmen Lovato (FY, Oakland, Calif./Bayhill HS) for four relays. Augsburg set season-bests in the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:07.64) and 400-yard medley relay (4:59.47) on Thursday, and the 200-yard medley relay (2:18.82) on Friday. Augsburg also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:49.04) on Saturday.

As a team, Augsburg finished with 56 points, while its 10th-place finish was the team's best since starting the program in the 2003-04 season. The season was the first under head coach Kasi Clauson Lange, a 2008 Augsburg alumnae who holds 24 Augsburg school records.
