Auggies drop 5-0 decision at SMU

WINONA, Minn. -- Alex Hall (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) collected 42 saves in goal for Augsburg College in the Auggies' 5-0 loss to host St. Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday evening at the SMU Ice Arena.

Augsburg (3-12-1 overall, 1-9-1 MIAC) was outshot by a 47-11 margin by St. Mary's (9-6-3 overall, 6-2-3 MIAC). Nicole Olson scored twice for the Cardinals, with Lauren Borkowski, Haley Coolsaet and Dana Kreuser also scoring. Olson added an assist, as did Coolsaet.

Jenna Knudtson (SR, Austin, Minn.), Erica Berthold (SR, Robbinsdale, Minn./Cooper HS) and Erin Leyden (SR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS) had two shots apiece for the Auggies.

Sarah Gustafson stopped all 11 shots she faced to claim the shutout victory for St. Mary's.

The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/5) at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
