GAME 1 BOXSCORE
GAME 2 BOXSCORE

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Adam Seaman (JR, Richfield, Minn.) tied the second game for Augsburg College with a dramatic pinch-hit, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning, but a run in the 10th inning gave Macalester College a 4-3 victory, completing a doubleheader sweep in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Macalester's Nicholson Field.

Macalester (7-7 overall, 2-0 MIAC) won the first game 9-1, then picked up the second-game win 4-3 in 10 innings over Augsburg (5-9 overall, 0-2 MIAC). Augsburg was the home team in both games, which were moved from Parade Stadium after being postponed on Saturday.

Augsburg trailed 3-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning of the second game, and with two outs, Mason Holmquist (SR, Prior Lake, Minn.) walked, seting the stage for Seaman's pinch-hit, two-run blast to extend the game to extra innings.

Macalester went ahead in the top of the 10th, as Mitch Glasser walked, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, and after an infield popup, Will Chen hit an RBI double. Augsburg got the potential tying run to third base in the bottom of the 10th, but a double play grounder ended the game.

Augsburg scored its other run in the second inning, as a sacrifice fly by Trent Anderson (JR, Eagan, Minn.) plated Alec Johnson (JR, Marine on St. Croix, Minn./Forest Lake HS).

Brent Kolbow (SO, Forest Lake, Minn.) led the Auggies on the afternoon with a 4-for-8 performance in the doubleheader, going 2-for-4 in each game, while Seaman and Holmquist had two hits apiece. Jeff Butler () had a double and John Demgen (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had a triple for the Auggies.

Macalester outhit Augsburg by a 15-6 margin en route to the 9-1, first-game victory. A six-run third inning, with 10 batters going to the plate, keyed the Scots' victory. Mitch Glasser and Robert Williams each had three-run home runs in the third inning.

Bryant Nordby (SR, Brownton, Minn./McLeod West HS) took the loss for Augsburg on the mound, with Adam Langer (JR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) and Brett Cloutier (SR, Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) pitching in relief. In the second game, Craig Lynch (SO, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) started, with Jeff Boresz (JR, Chardon, Ohio/Mentor HS) and Kristofer Ozga (SR, Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson HS) pitching in relief.

Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (4/6) at 2:30 p.m., with a conference doubleheader against Bethel. The games were originally scheduled for Parade Stadium, but has been moved to Bethel's Hargis Park, with Augsburg as the designated home team, due to field conditions at Parade Stadium.
