FINAL RESULTS
PEOSTA, Iowa --
Joel Kociemba (SR, Andover, Minn./St. Francis HS) shot a two-day 154 total to tie for 11th place, leading the Augsburg College men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Loras College Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
Kociemba shot a 1-over-par 73 in Sunday's first round, at The Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa -- his 14th round in the 70s among his 17 rounds this season -- then shot an 81 in the second round at Thunder Hills Golf Club in Peosta for his final total of 154, standing 12th among the 71 players in the 12-team event.
As a team, Augsburg finished seventh with a 632 (307-325) total, just a stroke off the team's best 36-hole score of this season. Augsburg's 307 first round was its third-best single round of the 2010-11 season.
Brian Deuel (JR, Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) had one of his best individual performances of the season, finishing tied for 15th with a 155 (75-80) total, tying his best 36-hole effort of the campaign, with his first-round 75 his best individual round this season.
Zach Johnson (SO, Sartell, Minn.) shot a 161 (81-80) total to tie for 37th, while
Tucker Williams (JR, Roseville, Minn.) shot 162 (78-84) to finish 42nd.
Tim Herrmann (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn.) and
Cole Stoney (FY, Lancaster, Wis.) each shot 168 totals to tie for 50th.
Augsburg returns to action on Thursday (4/7) with a dual meet against Bethel University at the Rum River Hills Golf Club in Anoka, Minn.
