SARTELL, Minn. -- Brian Deuel (SR, Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) shot a two-day total of 165 to lead the Augsburg College men's golf team at the St. John's University Fall Invitational, held over the weekend in Sauk Centre and Sartell.

Deuel had rounds of 78 and 87 for his 36-hole 165, tying for 54th place overall. All five Auggie golfers were within five shots of each other at the event.

As a team, Augsburg finished in 16th place with a two-day total of 660 (332-328) in the competitive 16-school, 21-team event, held at GreyStone and Blackberry Ridge golf courses.

Terry Gibbons (SR, Westlake, Ohio) finished in a tie for 58th place with a 16 (86-80) total. Tucker Williams (SR, Roseville, Minn.) shot a 167 (84-83) total, while Zach Johnson (JR, Sartell, Minn.) shot 168 (84-84) and Justin Popp (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn.) shot 169 (88-81).

Augsburg returns to action next Saturday and Sunday (9/24-25) at the Macalester Fall Invitational in Chaska, Minn.
