MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Micha Sater (JR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) and Colleen Ourada (SO, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded a team-high 16 kills each, as the Augsburg College volleyball team defeated the host University of Wisconsin-Stout in four games (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20) during a nonconference match Friday evening.
Augsburg (9-5 overall) dropped the first set of the match to the Blue Devils (3-12 overall) before winning the next three sets to earn the victory. The win marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Auggies, who currently sit in a tie for first-place in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings.
Sater recorded 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .324 to go along with seven digs, while Ourada recorded 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .233.
Joining Sater and Ourada on the offensive attack were Nikolene Miller (JR, Tomahawk, Wis.) and Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS) who recorded nine and eight kills, respectively. Miller recorded a hitting percentage of .381 to go along with three blocks, while Roh recorded a hitting percentage of .227 in addition to recording a team-high four blocks.
Maggie Zirk (JR, Dassel, Minn./Dassel-Cokato HS) added five kills for Augsburg, while recording a hitting percentage of .417.
Emily McCourt (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded 52 assists and a team-leading three service aces for the Auggies in the win. The match marks the fourth time in her career that McCourt has recorded 50 or more assists in a match.
Defensive specialist Katelyn Berens (SO, Jordan, Minn./Prior Lake HS) and Amy Jo Opsal (SR, North Mankato, Minn./St. Clair HS) recorded 10 and eight digs, respectively, for Augsburg.
Augsburg will enjoy a week off from competition before returning to action next Friday (10/7) at home against St. Catherine University. Match time is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and a live webcast will be available.
