MEET RESULTS
MENOMONIE, Wis--
Rick Wolke (SR, Belle Plaine, Minn.) recorded two second-place finishes at the Warren Bowlus Open hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Stout to lead the Augsburg College men's track and field team on Saturday afternoon. No team results were recorded at the meet.
Wolke recorded a time of 22.80 seconds in the 200-meter dash, which fell two-hundredths of a second short of matching his personal-best time in the event. Wolke also recorded a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash, finishing the race with a time of 51.91 seconds.
Augsburg sprinter
Joe Arnold (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) also performed well at the Wisconsin-Stout event, as he recorded a time of 2:01.63 to finish in third place in the 800-meter run. The race marked the first time since the 2009 season that Arnold has competed in an indoor 800-meter run.
Distance runner
Micheale Tesema (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) recorded a time of 15:40.92 in the 5,000-meter run to finish in second place. Tesema currently holds the fastest time recorded among MIAC runners in the 5,000 this season.
Just behind Wolke at the 400-meter finish line was first -year Augsburg sprinter
Fabien Dubbe (FY, New Prague, Minn.). Competing in his first ever collegiate race, Dubbe recorded a time of 52.10 seconds to finish in fourth-place.
In the field events, the Auggies were led by a pair of first-year high jumpers,
John Spray (FY, Mount Dora, Fla./Mount Dora Bible HS) and
Michael Harley (FY, Sugar Hill, Ga./Stillwater (Minn.) HS). The first-year duo both recorded heights of 1.89 meters (6-feet-2.25) to tie for first place at the event, setting a new school record in the process. The previous school record of 1.86 meters was set by Luke Trees during the 2001 indoor season.
Spray also recorded a 10th-place finish in the long jump, as he recorded a distance of 5.88 meters (19-feet-3.50).
The Auggies will return to action next weekend at the Bethel University Indoor Invitational on Saturday (2/4).
