Carney leads Auggies at UW-Stout

MEET RESULTS

MENOMONIE, Wis.-- Ashley Carney (JR, Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville South HS) recorded a first-place finish in the finals of the 60-meter dash to lead the Augsburg College women's track and field team during the team's first meet of the 2012 indoor season, at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Warren Bowlus Open on Saturday. No team results were recorded at the meet.

Carney's time of 7.87 seconds in the finals marks a personal best for the sprinter, and is the fastest time recorded in the event this year by a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sprinter. Carney also recorded a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, as she recorded a personal best time of 27.09.

Another Auggie runner who performed well at the UW-Stout Invite was distance runner Jennifer Pulscher (SR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS). Pulscher recorded a time of 6:03.43 in the mile run to finish in 22nd place.

In the field events, Augsburg pole vaulter Brittany Tuberg (JR, Apple Valley, Minn.) recorded a height of 2.95 meters (9-feet-8.0) to finish in fourth-place at the event. Tuberg currently holds school records for both the indoor and outdoor pole vault.

Augsburg will return to action on Saturday (2/4) at the Bethel University Indoor Invitational.
