Rice 6th at Tori Neubauer Invite

LACROSSE, Wis.-- Lauren Rice (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family HS) claimed a personal-best time and finished in sixth place to lead the Augsburg College women's cross country team at the Tori Neubauer Invitational Saturday afternoon near the campus of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. As a team, the Auggies finished in 17th place at the invite, which featured a total of 28 teams in the field.

Rice, who has lead the Auggies in every meet this season, finished with a personal best time of 22:19 in Saturday's meet. Rice has recorded a top-10 finish in all of the races she has competed in this season.

Other notable performers for Augsburg include Mary Klecker (FY, Hopkins, Minn.) who finished in 82nd place with a season best time of 24:04. Klecker's time marks a 40 second improvement from her performance at the St. Olaf Invite earlier this season.

Kayla Roberge (SO, Minneapols, Minn./Holy Angels HS) finished just behind Klecker in 90th place with a season-best time of 24:19, while teammate Haley Diem (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) recorded a season best time of 25:49 to finish fourth for Augsburg.

Hannah Ehling (SO, Montevideo, Minn.) rounded out the Augsburg top five, recording a time of 26:52.

Other Augsburg performers included Cate Fritz (JR, Wilmar, Minn.) and Adrienne Young (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony HS) who finished in 28:14 and 30:24 respectively.  Emily Knudson (SO, Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater HS) and Katie Storlie (JR, Moorhead, Minn.) also competed for the Auggies, as the duo finished with times of 31:17 and 33:21 respectively.

This weekend's meet marks the final tune-up for the Auggies before the MIAC Championship Meet in two weeks (10/27) at the Como Park Golf Course in Saint Paul, Minn.
