MINNEAPOLIS -- On Satuday, 43 Augsburg female alumni will be recognized as part of the college's celebration of 40 years of Title IX and women's athletics. Lavonne Johnson Peterson '50 and Joyce Anderson Pfaff '65 will be receiving special One of Our Own recogintion, while the all-decade teams highlight the top-10 female athletes from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. Below is a list of the all decade team members with a link to the bios for each decade.

Lavonne Johnson Peterson '50 -- coached women's basketbal and taught at the College from 1950 to 1980. Known as "Mrs. Pete," she was one of the single most influential people in the development of women's athletics at Augsburg. Peterson created numerous opportunities in athletics and physical education for women. In the 1950's, Peterson launched the Auggiettes women's basketball team that wone 154 of 160 games with 13 unbeaten seasons. In 1979, she received the College's first Distinguished Athletic Service award, and a year later the Distinguished Faculty award. Peterson was a professor emerita at Augsburg.

Joyce Anderson Pfaff '65 -- was the College's first women's athletic director and helped to establish varsity intercollegiate women's athletics at augsburg. She was Augsburg's first volleyball and gymnastics coach and saw softball, gymnastics, tennis, track and field, cross country and soccer added during her tenure. Pfaff was a professor in the health and physical education department where she was an innovator in the classroom. Her teaching experiences included a four-month project at the United International College in Zhuhai, China. Pfaff was inducted into the Augsburg Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991, was an honored faculty member and received the Distingished Alumni Award in 2009.

Ann Knutson Brovold '74– was a key member of Augsburg's first gymnastics teams, competing for Coach Joyce Pfaff. Brovold was the first female in any sport to qualify for postseason competition. Her team placed sixth in AIAW state competition in 1973-74. Brovold earned her degree in health and physical education in 1974 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.

Marilyn Pearson Florian '76 – was a three-sport star participating in volleyball, basketball and softball. Pearson Florian was a power hitter, middle blocker in volleyball. She helped lead the team to two runner-up finishes in the AIAW state tournament and a regional tournament berth in 1974 and 1975. Pearson Florian was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

Dixie Houser '75 – was a two-sport athlete in the early years of varsity women's athletics. Houser was a guard on the 1971-1975 women's basketball teams. She was a good shooter and ball handler and a great defensive player. She was also a two-year member of the volleyball team. Houser graduated with a degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in coaching.

Cheryl Nelson King '70 -- was a member of the fabled Auggiettes women's basketball teams that competed prior to the passing of Title IX. In addition to her skills on the basketball court, King played golf, volleyball, badminton, and gymnastics. King graduated from Augsburg with a degree in Health and Physical Education and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990.

Shari Lee '77 – was a great three-sport athlete in the 1970's. She played on the volleyball teams coached by Mary Timm that experienced success both at the MAIAW state tournament and the AIAW Region 6 tournament. She was a forward on the women's basketball teams and a pitcher, utility fielder on the inaugural three softball teams. Lee graduated from Augsburg with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Health.

Maggie McDonough '79 – was a three-sport athlete. McDonough also served for two years as a student representative to MAIAW. Her teams qualified for MAIAW state tournaments in three sports, including a second-place finish in softball, eighth-place finish in women's basketball and sixth-place finish in volleyball. She was named Honor Athlete and graduated with a health and physical education major and music minor. McDonough was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Nancy Soli Mollner '75 – was a standout three-sport athlete. She was a setter on the 1974-75 volleyball team that made it to the regional tournament in Nebraska. Nancy led the Auggies as a forward in basketball and catcher in softball. She was named Honor Athlete in 1975 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Health and Physical Education. Mollner was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

Carol Chamberlain Neutzling '76 – was a two-sport athlete and great all-around player. An explosive hitter on the inaugural 1972-1975 volleyball teams, Chamberlain led the Auggies to AIAW state and the Regional competition. Chamberlain also held top times in 100 yard dash and 440 yard relay in track and field. She graduated with a Health and Physical Eduation degree.

Connie Lamon Priesz '78 – was a three-sport athlete earning Honor Athlete honors in 1978 as a solid all-around gymnast. She was also a member of the cross country and track and field teams as a middle-distance runner, hurdler and long jumper. She competed in state championship meets in all three sports. Lamon Priesz earned degrees in physical education and elementary education and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

Cindy Schendel '76 – was a rare four-sport athlete. She anchored the Auggie volleyball offense as a setter on the 1974 and 1975 volleyball teams that qualified for regionals, including wins over the University of Nebraska and The University of Missouri. She was a guard in basketball and played third base, pitcher for Auggie softball. Schendel was named Honor Athlete in 1976 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.

Michele Boyer '89 – earned All-American honors as a softball outfielder. She was a three-time All-MIAC and holds the school record for single-season batting average. Also a three-time All-MIAC honoree In basketball, Boyer was one of only six players in history to score more than 1,000 points in her career. She earned the Honor Athlete award in 1989 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.

Karen Sterner Engel '87 – is a six-time All-American in track and field, qualifying for the NCAA outdoor national championships twice, with All-American honors in the hurdles and heptathlon twice each. She also was a two-time All-American indoors in the 55-meter hurdles. An MIAC MVP in track and was also a two-time Academic All-America honoree. Sterner Engle was named Honor Athlete in 1987 and inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.

Lisa Svac Hawks '85 – is a three-time All-MIAC softball pitcher. She earned AIAW All-State and All-Region honors twice, as a member of state and conference championships teams. Her pitching wins and career earned-run average are both second-best in school history, and she holds school pitching records in 15 different career and single-season categories. Svac was also an All-MIAC honoree in volleyball. Hawks was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.

Linda Henke '82 – is one of the top women's basketball players in school history. Henke is second on the school's all-time scoring and rebounding lists, while ranking third in blocked shots. She was the first Auggie women's basketball player – and one of only six in school history – to break the 1,000-point barrier. Her scoring average in 1980-81 is still the single-season record. Henke was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

Carolyn Ross Isaak '89 – is the most decorated individual student-athlete in Augsburg history. Ross Isaak earned five individual national titles, nine All-American honors and 13 MIAC individual championships in track and field. She earned national championships in the indoor and outdoor 400-meter dash and the outdoor 400-meter hurdles. Her 1989 championship time in the 400-meter hurdles is still the NCAA Division III national meet record. She was named Honor Athlete in 1989 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.

Kathy Korum '81 – was a standout athlete in three sports. As a volleyball player, she earned MAIAW Division III All-Tournament Team honors twice. As a softball player, Korum earned MAIAW All-State honors as a pitcher in 1979 and made Augsburg history by becoming the first female athlete to earn a varsity letter in a men's sport, when she competed for the men's golf squad her junior year. During a golf meet in the 1980 season, she also set a national record by recording the then-longest double-eagle by a woman. Korum was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.

Dana Rae Holmes McIntyre '81 –A standout volleyball setter and softball pitcher, McIntyre was a seven-time captain and six time All-State selection. She led teams to regional competition and was Honor Athlete her senior year. McIntyre graduated from Augsburg with a major in Physical Education/Adapted Physical Education and Corrective Therapy and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993.

Suzanne Sienkiewcz Peterson '81 – was a four-year softball player and two-year member of the women's basketball team. As an outfielder on two MAIAW state tournament championship teams, she earned All-MAIAW and All-Region honors. She currently ranks fourth all-time in career triples, sixth in single season slugging percentage and is tied for the school record for fewest strikeouts. Peterson was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.

Melanie Herrera-Storlie '88 – is one of the top track and field athletes in school history with seven All-American honors. She qualified for seven NCAA national championships, winning national titles in both indoor and outdoor shot put. Her efforts helped Augsburg's squad to the best team finishes ever for any Augsburg women's team sport in NCAA Division III national competition. She was also a member of the volleyball team for three seasons. Herrera was Honor Athlete in 1988 and inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.

Sue Thompson '85 – was a three-time All-MIAC selection as a softball shortstop. An All-Region selection, Sue is currently listed third in school history in runs scored and RBIs and is fourth in walks. She had just two strikeouts in her career, tying for the school record for fewest strikeouts in a career. In basketball, Thompson earned All-MIAC honorable mention honors . A captain in both sports, Thompson was Honor Athlete in 1985 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.

Mary Hall Duckson '90 – was one of the early stars of the women's soccer team, earning All-American honors multiple times. Playing in Augsburg's first four seasons of varsity women's soccer, she finished her career with 25 goals and 17 assists, ranking fourth in career goals and sixth in assists. Duckson graduated with a major in marketing and minor in communications. She was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.

Julie Stepan Flaskamp '92 – qualified for the NCAA Division III national championships twice in the heptathlon, earning All-American honors in 1992 with an eighth-place finish. She earned Academic All-MIAC honors and was named an Honor Athlete in 1992. Stepan Flaskamp earned team MVP honors three years in a row. A communications major and studio art/English minor, Stepan Flaskamp was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Natasha Hamann '99 – finished her career as one of the best setters in the history of Augsburg's volleyball program. She finished her career with a school-record in assists -- one of only two players to ever have more than 3,000 career assists. She also ranks second in school history in career aces and eighth in career digs. She played in a school-record 123 matches. Hamann graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999, majoring in biology and was inducted into the Athletic hall of Fame in 2010.

Astrid Larssen '98 – was named the MIAC's Most Valuable Soccer Player. She currently ranks second in school history in career assists, sixth in points and 11th in goals. Larssen was a three-time All-MIAC honoree and earned All-Central Region honors. In track and field, Larssen was one of the top sprinters in school history, setting two school records that stood for eight years. She qualified for the NCAA national championships five times and was a two-time All-American. Larssen earned her degree in chemistry and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. Astrid Larssen.

Kristi Ockuly '95 – was a three-time All-MIAC and All-Region selection in softball, and named a Division III All-American. An outfielder and pitcher, she is fifth in school history in hits, second in doubles, second in RBI and fifth in home runs. She played every game during all four years of her career and started all but one. The Honor Athlete in 1995, Ockuly graduated with an elementary education major, health minor. She was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Rebekah Ormsby '97 – earned All-American honors in cross country, when she finished 10th at the national meet. In track and field, Ormsby earned All-MIAC honors four times, while setting school records in the 3,000 and 5,000-meters. A history/chemistry major with a 3.83 GPA, Ormsby graduated summa cum laude, earned Academic All-Region honors twice, and was named the Minnesota NCAA Woman of the Year. Also an Honor Athlete, Ormsby was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jenny Coyle Rhoads '97 – was a softball All-American as shortstop. She was a three-time All-Midwest Region selection and earned All-MIAC honors three times. She is currently ranked 4th in school history in career batting average, sixth in RBI and seventh in slugging percentage. She was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

Stefanie Lodermeier Strusz '98 – holds most of Augsburg's major school records in basketball, including career points, career points-per-game, career rebounds and career rebounds-per-game. A forward, she earned All-MIAC honors three times and was named a preseason All-American. An Academic All-MIAC and Joyce Pfaff academic award honoree, she was named Honor Athlete in 1998. She graduated with a health and physical education major and inducted in the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

Andrea Haight Swanberg '91 – earned All-MIAC honors three times in softball and earned All-Region and All-American honors her senior season as a catcher. In basketball, Haight Swanberg earned All-MIAC honors twice, and ended her career with more than 900 career points and more than 500 career rebounds. She was a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree in both sports, and earned Academic All-America honors in softball. Honor Athlete in 1991, she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Janel Schmidt Wahlin '92 – earned All-MIAC honors twice in softball, and was named both All-Region and a second-team All-American. Schmidt Wahlin is currently ranked seventh in career at bats and runs scored, eighth in hits and is second in pitching win-loss percentage. She was also a three-year starter as an outside hitter in volleyball, and served as a team co-captain in both sports. Schmidt Whalin was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.

Tonnisha Bell '06 – won nine MIAC championships in track and field, earning 13 All-MIAC honors during her career. An eight-time MIAC Athlete of the Week, Bell also earned MIAC Championship Most Outstanding Performance honors three times, and graduated holding two conference indoor meet records. A five-time All-America honoree, Bell was named as the Central Region Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year in 2006, and still holds the school record in the indoor 60-meter dash, long jump, and outdoor 200-meter dash.

Carrie Lind Cabe '00 – was a two-time NCAA All-American and National Runner-up on the track and field team. In her first season at Augsburg, Cabe set school and conference records en route to a MIAC individual title and NCAA championship appearance in the weight throw. In the outdoor season, Cabe set the school record hammer throw and finished second in the conference and ninth nationally. A psychology and religion major, Cabe was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.

Maggie DeGroot '09 – is one of the top goalkeepers in school history. A four-time All- MIAC honoree, DeGroot currently holds school-records in wins, goals-against-average, shutouts and win-loss percentage. Appearing in 72 career games, she recorded an .887 save percentage, while her teams qualified for the MIAC postseason tournament three times. DeGroot was named NCAA All-Central Region second team. An exercise science major, Maggie was Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year in 2009.

Rachael Ekholm '02 – was a three-time All-MIAC honoree in softball earning All-Midwest Region first-team honors her senior season. Ekholm currently ranks first all-time in school history in home runs, RBI's, total bases, and slugging percentage. As a senior, Ekholm hit a single-season school-record 11 home runs, third-best among all NCAA Division III hitters. As a pitcher, Rachael ranks fourth all-time in games pitched, first in strike-outs and fifth in wins. Ekholm was also a four-year letterwinner in basketball.

Angela Bergeson Lawrence '06 – was a member of the cross country, women's hockey and track and field teams. Angela was a two-time All-MIAC and All-Region honoree in both cross country and track & field and named MIAC Athlete of the Week three times. As the current school record holder in six events, Angela qualified for the NCAA championships in the 800-meter run and earned All-American honors as a member of the Augsburg distance-medley relay team.

Kristen Lideen '04 – was a three-time All-MIAC selection in softball. During her junior and senior seasons, Lideen earned first-team All-Midwest Region and third-team All-American honors as a shortstop. Kristen is currently the school-record holder in batting average and doubles, and is ranked second all-time in hits and slugging percentage. In soccer, Lindeen was a two-time All-MIAC honorable mention honoree, anchoring an Augsburg defense that was ranked 6th-best in the nation in goals against average.

Tiffany Magnuson '09 – was an eight-time All-MIAC honoree in two sports. In softball, Magnuson was named to the All-Midwest Region team as a senior, and finished her career as the school record-holder in hits and triples. Magnuson is currently ranked second in school history in steals and total bases. As a member of the hockey program, Magnuson was named to the All-MIAC Rookie Team, and became the second player in school history to earn All-Conference honors all four years. Magnuson earned the National Scholar Athlete Award and was named Honor Athlete in 2009.

Lauren Chezick May '05 – rewrote the hockey record book during her career, as she established records for points and assists. A four-time All-MIAC honoree, May was named the conference Player of the Year and earned All-American honors following her sophomore season when she led the country in total points. May earned numerous conference and national academic awards, and was named as Honor Athlete in 2005.

Angie Rieger '01 – earned All-MIAC honors in hockey and volleyball. Rieger was a member of two conference hockey championship teams including the 2000 team that competed in the first Division III national tournament. Rieger is one of just two players in school history to record 100-plus career points and is the school-record holder for goals, game-winning goals and shorthanded goals. A three-time All-American, Rieger was named MIAC Player of the Year twice, and was a two-time National Player of the Year finalist. In volleyball, Rieger holds school records for career kills, kills per-set, attack percentage and solo blocks. An All-American honorable mention selection in 2000, Angie is the only player in school history to record over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs during her career. She was named to the 2011 Athletic Hall of Fame.

Meg Schmidt Sawyer '00 – is a two-time All-MIAC selection in hockey. A second team All-American selection during her career, Sawyer anchored two MIAC championship teams and was the starting goalie on the 2000 squad that competed in the first national tournament. Sawyer currently holds the school record for career wins, and is ranked second in career shutouts, and third in saves. A 2012 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Sawyer also participated in softball and golf.

Millie Suk '05 – was a four-time All-MIAC honoree during her soccer career. Suk led the team in goals scored for four consecutive seasons and was twice selected to the All-West Region third-team. Suk and the Auggies reached the MIAC post-season playoffs twice, recording an overall record of 40-21-11, the second-best stretch in school history. Suk set Augsburg career records for total points and goals. A three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and two-time Academic All-District honoree, Suk was named Honor Athlete in 2006.
