MINNEAPOLIS --
Ashley Carney (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) recorded two top-10 finishes, leading the Augsburg College women's track and field team at the University of Minnesota Parents Day Open on Saturday at the Minnesota Fieldhouse. No team results were recorded at the meet.
Five Augsburg participants recorded season-best performances on Saturday, including Carney, who clocked a time of 7.81 seconds in the 60-meter dash preliminaries. Carney's time is the fastest recorded in the MIAC this season, and currently ranks as the 12th-fastest among NCAA Division III participants nationally. Carney finished fifth in the 60-meter dash finals, and would also add a 10th-place finish in the 200-meter dash, as she posted a season-best time of 26.68 seconds.
Augsburg pole vaulter
Brittany Tuberg (JR, Apple Valley, Minn.) also turned in a solid performance for Augsburg, as she recorded a season best height of 3.16 meters (10-feet-4). Tuberg, the school record-holder in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault, currently holds the fourth-best height among MIAC competitors in the event this season.
Distance runner
Jennifer Pulscher (SR, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS) clocked a time of 5:45.11 in the mile run on Saturday. The time marked a season- and career-best for Pulscher, who improved her time by more than 15 seconds in the event.
Other notable Augsburg performers include sprinter
Molly Allen (FY, Stillwater, Minn.), who recorded a season-best time of 27.45 seconds in the 200-meter dash and a time of 8.45 seconds in the 60-meter dash. Fellow first-year sprinter
Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS) clocked a time of 28.26 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Augsburg returns to action Friday (2/24) as they travel to St. Paul, Minn., to participate in the Macalester College Invitational.
