MEET RESULTS
NORTHFIELD, Minn.-- The Augsburg College men's track and field team claimed four event victories and broke two school records at the St. Olaf College Tostrud Invitational on Saturday afternoon. No team results were recorded at the meet.
Joe Arnold (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) claimed a win in the 600-meter dash, setting a new school record in 1:24.10. Arnold, who currently ranks seventh in the MIAC in the 400-meter dash, broke the previous school record set by Jason Edwards during the 2004 indoor season.
Another school record fell in the high jump competition when
Michael Harley (FY, Sugar Hill, Ga./Stillwater (Minn.) HS) broke his own school record with a height of 1.90 meters (6-feet-2.75) to win the event. In his first season of intercollegiate competiton, Harley currently owns the fourth-best height among MIAC competitors in the event.
Distance runner
Micheale Tesema (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) recorded another first-place finish for the Auggies, as he recorded a personal-best time of 8:55.65 in the 3,000-meter run. Tesema's performance marks a 15-second improvement over his season best from the 2011 indoor season.
Sprinter
Rick Wolke (SR, Belle Plaine, Minn.) continued his spectacular season for the Auggies, as he claimed another win in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 22.55 seconds. The win marked Wolke's second consecutive first-place finish in the 200, and the sprinter now holds top-five times in the 60, 200, and 400-meter competitions.
Other notable Augsburg performers include sprinter
Fabien Dubbe (FY, New Prague, Minn.) who recorded fourth-place finishes in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Dubbe recorded a season-best time of 23.14 seconds the 200, which currently ranks eighth in the MIAC this season.
In addition to his performance in the 600, Arnold also recorded an 11th-place finish in the 200-meter dash, as he clocked a season-best time of 23.42 seconds.
In the field events, Augsburg long jumpers
Dan Wolfson (FY, Edina, Minn.) and
John Spray (FY, Mount Dora, Fla./Mount Dora Bible HS) recorded finishes of fifth place and 14th place respectively. Wolfson recorded a distance of 6.09 meters (20-feet-0) while Spray claimed a distance of 5.32 meters (17-feet-5.5).
