WISCONSIN-EAU CLAIRE BLUGOLD OPEN RESULTS
ST. JOHN'S NORTH COUNTRY OPEN RESULTS

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Tom Kuehn (FY, Fargo, N.D./West Fargo HS) and Tommy Teigen (SO, Ham Lake, Minn./Meadow Lake Christian HS) won titles for the Augsburg College wrestling team, as the Auggies split their squads to compete at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Open and the St. John's University North Country Open on Saturday. No team results were kept at either meet.

Kuehn improved to 17-7 with three wins at 133 pounds at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Open. He opened with a first-period pin, then scored a 10-1, major-decision victory before topping Trevor Pruett of Wisconsin-Whitewater 8-7 in the finals.

At the St. John's meet, Teigen won all four of his matches to claim the championship. He had a third-period pin to open his run and scored a 4-2 win over Matthew Rogers of St. John's in the finals.

Sixteen Auggie wrestlers competed at the two meets, with 10 placewinners. Mike Fuenffinger (FY, Hibbing, Minn.) finished second at 125 pounds at the Blugold Open, while Josh Kohler (SR, Monticello, Minn.) went 5-1 to finish third at 174 at the North Country Open.

Matt Hechsel (FY, Apple Valley, Minn.) finished in fourth place at the Blugold Open at 184. At the North Country Open, Justin Bowland (SO, Foley, Minn.) finished fourth at 165, while Brandon Bahr (SR, Bemidji, Minn.) finished fourth at 174. Alex Johnson (SR, Foxhome, Minn./Breckenridge HS) finished fifth at 141 at the North Country Open, while Nathan Lexvold (SR, Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) placed sixth at 149 and Jackson Mboma (SR, Maple Grove, Minn.) placed sixth at 184.

Augsburg, ranked No. 2 in the lastest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III national poll, returns to action on Sunday (2/5) at 2 p.m., with a dual meet at No. 3-ranked Wisconsin-La Crosse.
