MEET RESULTS
NORTHFIELD, Minn. --
Ashley Carney (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) claimed an event victory in the 200-meter dash, leading the Augsburg College women's track and field team at the Carleton College Relays on Saturday at Laird Stadium.
Carney won on Saturday in a time of 26.08 seconds. Her season-best time of 25.59 seconds in the 200 currently ranks
second among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runners and
44th among NCAA Division III runners nationally, both rankings prior to this weekend's competition. Carney leads the MIAC and ranks 17th among Division III runners in the 100-meter dash (12.18 seconds).
Carney was one of three Auggies to finish in the top six in the 200-meter dash at the Carleton meet, joined by
Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS), who placed fifth in 27.826 seconds, and
Molly Allen (FY, Stillwater, Minn.), who placed sixth in 27.833 seconds.
Allen and Roh also placed in the top six in the 100-meter dash on Saturday, Allen placing fourth in 13.80 seconds and Roh in sixth in 14.187 seconds.
Abby Kangas (FY, Eagan, Minn.) placed 11th in the 100 in 14.80 seconds.
Brittany Tuberg (JR, Apple Valley, Minn.) finished second in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 3.22 meters (10-feet-6.75). She entered this weekend's action ranked third in the MIAC's listing in the event.
Amy Wenzel (SR, Sun Prairie, Wis.) achieved season-best efforts in two field events -- placing eighth in the javelin throw in 23.34 meters (76-feet-7) and eighth in the shot put in 8.61 meters (28-feet-3).
Augsburg's 400-meter relay also achieved a season-best time of 52.11 seconds on Saturday.
Augsburg will return to action at the Drake (Iowa) Relays and the Gustavus Drake Alternative Meet next weekend.
