Auggies compete at Bethel Invite

STILLWATER, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's golf team competed at the Bethel University Royal Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Loggers Trail Golf Course, finishing in sixth place with a two-day total of 769.

Augsburg had two top-20 finishers in the six-team, 37-golfer meet. Hannah Shafer (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) finished 18th with a 36-hole total of 189 (96-93), while Jill Ferguson (JR, Batavia, Ill.) finished 19th with a 190 (98-92) total.

Courtney Barthel (FY, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) finished 23rd with a 193 (98-95) total, while Ashley Lindemann (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo South HS) finished in a tie for 26th with a 197 (98-99) total. McKay Karl (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn.) and Emilee Howe (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) both finished with 236 totals, and Margaret Hughes (SO, Mendota Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) finished with a 237 total.

Augsburg will close its 2011-12 season on Thursday (4/26) at the Wisconsin-Stout Invitational at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis.
