Carney set a school record of 11.89 seconds in winning the 100, breaking the old school mark of 11,95 seconds, set by Tonnisha Bell in 2006. Carney's time of 11.89 seconds is currently ranked as the third-fastest time among NCAA Division III sprinters nationally.

Forty-five minutes after winning her title in the 100, Carney claimed her second title of the day in the 200-meter dash, as she recorded a season-best time of 24.93 seconds. Carney's time in the 200 is currently ranked No. 19 among NCAA Division III sprinters nationally.

The conference titles are the second and third this calendar year for Carney, who also won the 60-meter dash title at the MIAC Indoor Championships in March. Carney is the first MIAC female athlete to win both the 100 and 200 at the MIAC Outdoor Championships since Sheena Porter of St. Thomas accomplished the feat in 2007.

As a team, Augsburg finished tied for 10th place with 27.0 points.
