MEET RESULTS
LA CROSSE, Wis. --
Joe Arnold (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) recorded top-10 finishes in the 200- and 400-meter dashes to lead the Augsburg College men's track and field team at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse National Qualifier on Thursday evening. No team results were recorded at the meet.
Arnold, who claimed a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships last weekend, finished Thursday's race with a time of 49.74 seconds to place ninth. Arnold would later record a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, as he clocked a time of 22.02 seconds.
Michael Harley (FY, Sugar Hill, Ga./Stillwater (Minn.) HS) also competed in multiple events on Thursday, as he placed 12th in the high jump, and ran in the 100-meter dash field. A fourth-place finisher in the high jump at the MIAC Championships last week, Harley recorded a height of 1.91 meters (6-feet-3.25) on Thursday. Harley would later clock a season-best time of 11.37 seconds to finish 23rd in the 100-meter dash.
Other Augsburg participants in the National Qualifier included middle-distance runner
Luke Iverson (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) who clocked a time of 2:01.23 in the 800-meter run, and distance runner
Daniel Gerber (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS), who finished with a time of 17:09.83 in the 5,000-meter run.
The final list of participants for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships is slated to be released on NCAA.org by 8 a.m. on Sunday (5/20). The national championships will be held at Fritz B. Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif. (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps host) May 24-26.
