Carney competes at Last Chance Qualifier

MEET RESULTS

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Reigning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 100- and 200-meter dash champion sprinter Ashley Carney (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) claimed a ninth-place finish in the 200 to lead the Augsburg College women's track and field team at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse National Qualifier Meet on Thursday evening. No team results were recorded at the meet.

Carney, who was recently named as the MIAC Outstanding Women's Track Athlete of the conference meet, clocked a time of 25.36 seconds in the 200-meter dash to finish in ninth place. Among NCAA Division III sprinters nationally, Carney currently holds the 25th-fastest time in the 200 at 24.93 seconds. Carney currently holds the third-fasted time nationally in the 100-meter dash, with a school record time of 11.89 seconds.

The final list of participants for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships is slated to be released on NCAA.org by 8 a.m. on Sunday (5/20). The national championships will be held at Fritz B. Burns Stadium in Claremont, Calif. (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps host) May 24-26.
