Rice finishes 8th at STO

MEET RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn.-- Lauren Rice (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) claimed an eighth-place finish to lead the Augsburg College women's cross country team at the St. Olaf College Invitational Saturday morning. As a team, the Auggies finished in 13th-place among the 24 teams competing at the event.

Rice, who claimed a first-place individual finish two weeks ago in the Augsburg Triangular, clocked a time of 22:58 on Saturday. Rice finished with the sixth-best time among MIAC participants in the meet Saturday.

Kayla Roberge (Burnsville, Minn./Holy Angels HS) also performed well for the Auggies on Saturday, claiming a 51st place finish with a time of 24:42. Mary Klecker (FY, Hopkins, Minn.) finished just behind Roberge with a time of 24:44 to finish in 53rd place.

Haley Diem (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) was the fourth Augsburg finisher, as she recorded a time of 26:34. 

Cate Fritz (JR, Wilmar, Minn.) rounded out the Augsburg top-five, as she finished with a time of 29:42. 

Also competing for Augsburg were Carissa Miller (SR, Woodbury, Minn.) and Emily Knudson (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater HS) who recorded times of 30:30 and 30:46 respectively.

The Auggies will return to action in two weeks (9/29) when they travel to Salem, Ore. to participate in the Willamette University Invitational. The trip marks the first time since the 2007 season that the Auggies will travel outside of the midwest for regular season competiton.
