MEET RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Competing in her first collegiate diving event,
Hannah Thiry (FY, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) set a school record in the one-meter diving competition, while falling just 0.35 short of a school record in the three-meter diving competition, leading the Augsburg College women's swimming and diving team at the University of St. Thomas Relays on Saturday.
Thiry shattered the Augsburg one-meter diving record by 31.15 points with a 171.30-point effort in the six-dive competition, finishing in sixth place in the 21-diver field.
Her 167.70 score in the six-dive, three-meter diving competition, good for fifth place in the 19-diver field, fell just 0.35 short of tying the school record of 168.05, set by teammate
Lindsey LaCasse (SO, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) last season.
Meanwhile, Augsburg's
Kelsey Knollmueller (SO, Oakdale, Calif.) was a part of two times that entered the Augsburg top-10 all-time listings. Her leadoff leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay, a 2:09.20 effort, marked the fifth-fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle in school history. The 800-yard freestyle squad of Knollmueller,
Emilyjohn Connors (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Orono HS),
Alicia Papke-Larson (JR, Bemidji, Minn.) and
Sarah Pomerleau (FY, Fridley, Minn.) recorded the sixth-fastest time in school history in the event, finishing in 9:08.00 and in eighth place overall.
Augsburg claimed three other top-10 finishes in the all-relay swimming competition. The 300-yard breaststroke relay of Pomerleau, Connors, Papke-Larson and Knollmueller finished in fourth place in 3:51.61, while the 300-yard backstroke relay of
Emma Ramaley (FY, Anoka, Minn.),
Kelsey Hlavac (SR, Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS),
Hayley Olson (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) and
Kayla Mitchell (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Insight School of Minnesota) finished in eighth place in 3:49.47.Â
The 1,100-yard "Animal Relay" finished in sixth place in 16:03.53, and the 300-yard butterfly relay of
Bre Kirch (JR, Waunakee, Wis.), Thiry, Mitchell and Hlavac finished ninth in 4:03.72.Â
Augsburg returns to action next Saturday (11/2) at the Saint Mary's University Invitational.
