2014 MIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER AWARDSMINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College's record-setting women's soccer season was recognized by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, as Auggie forward
Olivia Muyres (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) was named MIAC Player of the Year and coach
Mike Navarre was named MIAC Coach of the Year, part of several honors awarded to the MIAC regular-season and playoff champions recently.
Muyres was one of three Auggies to earn All-MIAC honors; joining her were midfielder
Molly Allen (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) and forward
Marie Fitzgerald (JR, Fort Atkinson, Wis.). Midfielders
Marta Anderson (SO, Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS) and
Abi Rodstein (SR, Eagan, Minn.) earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors, and defender
Bri Felton (SR, Fridley, Minn.) was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
It marks the second time that Auggies have been honored with the MIAC's top women's soccer awards; Scott Hansing was named MIAC Co-Coach of the Year in 1995 and Astrid Larssen was named MIAC Player of the Year in 1996. It's the second All-MIAC honors for both Muyres (2013) and Allen (2012). Fitzgerald was an All-MIAC Honorable Mention selection last year, and Rodstein repeated her All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors from last year.


In his 16th season as Augsburg's head coach, Navarre led the Auggies to their first-ever MIAC regular-season and playoff titles, finishing with school records for wins in both overall (17-5-0) and MIAC (9-2-0) play, while leading the team to its sixth appearance in the MIAC postseason playoffs and second championship game in the past three seasons. Augsburg's berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament, reaching the second round, was also its first in the 30-season history of the program. Navarre's school-record 145 victories (145-108-40, .563 winning percentage) are nearly double the total of the five coaches in the first 14 seasons of the program (76-138-13, .363 winning percentage).

Muyres finished as the
MIAC's goal-scoring and point champion in overall play, finishing with 15 goals and 10 assists (second-most among MIAC players) for 40 points. Her 15 goals and 40 points are second-most in a single season in school history, behind her school records of 19 goals and 47 points last season.
In conference games-only, her 11 goals and 27 points were also league-bests, with her five assists second-most. She had a goal or assist in 13 of her 21 games (1,580 minutes played) this season, incluidng four multiple-goal games and four multiple-assist games. She finished with seven game-winning goals, including the overtime game-winner in Augsburg's first-ever NCAA triumph, a 1-0 win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh last Saturday.
A National Soccer Coaches Association All-North Region second-team selection in 2013, Muyres leaves the Augsburg program as the most prolific scorer in school history, setting school records with 46 career goals and 119 career points, along with 18 game-winning goals. In 77 career games, she also finished second in school history with 27 assists.

Allen finished the season as the top assist performer in the MIAC, leading the conference's overall statistics with a single-season school-record 15 assists, including an MIAC-leading nine assists in league games. Adding three goals, she finished the season with a career-best 21 points. Two of her goals were game-winners, in a 1-0 win at Gustavus on Oct. 25 and in the conference playoff championship game, a 1-0 triumph over Concordia-Moorhead on Oct. 8. She had a goal or assist in 13 of her 21 games this season (1,628 minutes played).
In her 78 career games (76 starts), Allen set Augsburg's school record for career assists with 38, and with four goals (two game-winners), her 46 career points are 11th-most in school history.

Fitzgerald had a career year in 2014, finishing with 13 goals and 29 points, both second-most among MIAC players in overall statistics. Four of her goals were game-winners, including the overtime game-winner in Augsburg's 1-0 playoff win over St. Thomas on Nov. 5. She also added three assists on the season, and had a goal or assist in nine of her 21 games played (1,497 minutes played). Her 13 goals were tied for the fourth-most in a single season in school history. She opened the season with six goals and an assist in her first three games, in which the Auggies outscored their foes by a 19-0 margin.
In her 59-game Augsburg career, Fitzgerald stands sixth on the record list for career goals (24) and points (63), while standing tied for 11th in assists (15). She has nine game-winning goals in her career. An Academic All-MIAC selection in 2013, Fitzgerald earned Capital One Academic All-District (CoSIDA) honors this season.


A team co-captain this season, Rodstein had another solid season as a defensive midfielder, finishing with a goal and three assists for five points, with her penalty-kick goal the eventual game-winner in Augsburg's 2-1 triumph at Loras (Iowa) on Sept. 5. She played in all 22 Auggie games and recorded 1,762 minutes played, third-most among all Auggies.
In her 66-game career, Rodstein finished with three goals and nine assists for 15 points, including three game-winning goals. Rodstein also earned Academic All-MIAC honors in both 2013 and 2012.


Anderson had a breakout season for the Auggies in 2014, finishing with four goals and six assists for 14 points, including a game-winning goal. Playing in the second-most minutes of any Auggie (1,766), she had a goal or assist in nine of her 21 games played. In her 39-game Auggie career, she now has five goals and 11 assists for 21 points.
Felton was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, as part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.


A team co-captain this season, Felton appeared in 13 games. She played in 51 games in her Augsburg career, recording two assists.
