8795MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College football quarterback Ayrton Scott (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) is featured in this week's Sports Illustrated magazine (Dec. 1 issue) as part of its "Faces in the Crowd" feature, which spotlights the athletic accomplishments of amateur athletes from around the country.

Scott was featured for his performance in Augsburg's 62-61, two-overtime win at No. 18-ranked Bethel on Nov. 15. Scott completed 28 of 41 passes for a school-record 563 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing 18 times for 67 yards, in the victory. His school- and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-record 630 yards of total offense were the most by an NCAA Division III player this season, with his 563 passing yards third-most. Scott completed touchdown passes of 50, 80, 68, 4 and 20 yards in snowy and cold conditions, in a game that produced the most combined points (123) in a single game in MIAC history.

Scott earned All-MIAC first-team honors for the third straight season in 2014, setting a new MIAC record for total offense in a single season, with 3,114 yards (671 rushing, 2,443 passing) in eight league games. He completed 197-of-338 passes for 2,874 yards (fourth-most in a single season in school history) and 24 touchdowns (tied for fifth-most in a single season in school history) against 12 interceptions. He also rushed 180 times for 869 yards (fifth-most in a single season in school history) and 11 touchdowns (third-most in a single season in school history).
