SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Augsburg College men's track and field team opened up their outdoor season competing in the Point Loma Nazarene Ross & Sharon Irwin Collegiate Scoring Meet on Saturday and recorded 31 personal records.Â
Phil Putratz won his heat and finished in eighth overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.31 seconds, while
Sean Adams finished in 22nd -- winning his heat -- with a time of 11.72. Ali Salmanpur and
Walter Foster-Bolton finished the 100-meter dash with times of 12.45 and 12.58 respectively. Putratz also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished in 18th with a time of 23.01, while Foster-Bolton crossed the finish line in 25.57 seconds.Â
Competing in the 400-meter dash was
Fabien Dubbe who finished in 19th with a time of 52.01.
Ryan Cook was the top finisher for the Auggies on Saturday, as he crossed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.62.
Micheale Tesema finished in 13th with a time of 2:00.69.Â
In the 1500-meter run, Tesema finished in 11th with a time of 4:02.28, while
Luke Iverson crossed the finish line in 4:07.14.
Mohamed Mohamed and
Luke Erickson also competed in the 1500-meter run finishing in 4:13.15 and 4:16.62 respectively. Andrew McGillivary and
Chris Huss raced in the 1500-meter run finishing with times of 16:24.54 and 16:3201 respectively.Â
Sean Adams finished 16th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.06. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Augsburgs
Ahmed Nur finished third with a time of 10:40.61. The Auggie 4x100-meter relay team of
Danny Buege,
Matt Green,
Logan Hortop and
Michael Kantor finished in fourth with a time of 50.24, while the 4x400-meter relay team finished in ninth.Â
Adams' long jump distance of 19'6.25" was good enough for 19th, and Foster-Bolten's distance of 18'10 placed him in 24th.
Matt Green finished the shot put in fifth with a throw of 44'8.75" and
Danny Buege's throw of 35'10.5" was good enough for 17th.
Michael Kantor, Green, Jesse Kususisto and
Logan Hortop all competed in the discus and placed in the top-20 with throws of 129'3", 127'0", 123'0" and 115'1" respectively. Green, Kantor, Kuusisto and Buege had strong performances in the hammer throw as well recording distances of 122'11", 119'7", 119'4" and 102'2".Â
The Auggies are scheduled to travel to Collegeville, Minn. to compete in the Saint John's University Invite on Saturday (3/29).Â
