MEET RESULTSNORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Augsburg College womens track and field 4x800 relay team took the spotlight at the Carleton Relays at Laird Stadium Saturday afternoon. The relay team of
Lauren Rice (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS),
Kayla Roberge (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Holy Angels HS),
Emma Blom (Culver, Minn./South Ridge HS), and
Taybri Irving (FY, Rosemount, Minn.) crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 10:08.11. The Carleton Relays did keep track of team scoring as Augsburg finished in seventh place.
Callie Jones (FY, Waubeka, Wis./Random Lake HS) sprinted her way to a second place finish in the 100-meter dash finishing with a time of 12.64 seconds, a new personal record.
Kai Mason (SO, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) finished in 11th with a time of 13.56, while
Tina Angok's (FY, Columbia Heights, Minn.) time of 13.90 was good enough for 17th and a new personal reocrd. Cate Fritz (SR, Willmar, Minn.) and Alex Magsig also competed in the 100-meter dash and finished with new personal best times of 14.38 and 17.69 respectively.
Jones picked up another top-ten finish in the 200-meter dash, placing ninth with a time of 28.23, while Mason's time of 29.22 placed her in 18th.
Marta Anderson (FY, Mankato, Minn./East HS) finished in 31.09 seconds, while Fritz crossed the finish line in 31.99 seconds.
Anderson finished in ninth place with a personal record time of 65.17 in the 400-meter dash. Rice competed in the 1500-meter run and finished with a time of 4:44.96, which placed her in sixth.
Competing in the shot put for the Auggies was
Andrea Heil (JR, Stillwater, Minn./Mounds Park Academy), who qualified for the finals with a throw of 27'11". Kate Hedrick (FY, Nowalk, Wis./Sparta HS),
Kali Kuusisto (FY, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), and Heil all competed in the discuss throw for Augsburg. Their throws of 102'7", 92'8", and 89'0" respectively were just shy of qualifying for finals. Kuusisto and Hedrick also competed in the javelin throw tossing scoring personal records with distances of 76'1" and 66'7.75" respectively. Angok claimed tenth place by tying her personal record, clearing 4'7" in the high jump.
The Auggies are scheduled to travel to St. Paul, Minn. for the Hamline University Twilight on Wednesday (4/23).
