Roberge and Irving finish second and third at UW-River Falls Invite

MEET RESULTS

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- The women's cross country team was led by Kayla Roberge (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Holy Angels HS) and Taybri Irving (SO, Rosemount, Minn.), who finished second and third respectively on Saturday morning in the 6,000-meter race at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course.

FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 4th/6 (85)
LOCATION: Kilkarney Hills GC, River Falls, Wis.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Roberge and Irving finished second and third overall and were separated by just one tenth of a second with times of 23:22.2 and 23:22.6 to lead Augsburg.
• Katie Davidson (FY, Crookston, Minn.) and Emma Blom (SO, Culver, Minn./South Ridge HS) both fininshed under the 25-minute mark with times of 24:47.4 and 24:53.9 respectively. Davidson and Blom's times were good enough for the third and fourth scoring spots for the Auggies, but were 23rd and 25th overall. 
• Blair Stewig (FY, Maple Lake, Minn.), Rachel Frantz (FY, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) and Katelyn Wheeler (FY, Plymounth, Minn./Wayzata HS) also competed for Augsburg, and finished with times of 25:58.5, 26:46, and 31:33.4 respectively.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Taybri Irving finished with a personal-best time, finishing faster than her 24:07.8 time in the UW-Platteville 6k last year.
• Emma Blom also finished with a personal-best time beating her old best of 24:54.9 by one second. Her old personal-best was from last year at the UW-La Crosse Invitational. 


FOR THE FOES
• Macalester won the event scoring 41 points. Medalist Mira Ensley-Field led the Scots with a time of 23:02.9. 
•
UW-Stevens Point and St. Catherine also finished ahead of the Auggies with point totals of 60 and 67 respectively.

• "We started off the season really strong with two women, Kayla and Taybri, placing in the top ten and we had some great PR's. I'm really proud of the effort that the women and men gave today. For the men, Abdullahi and Mohamed both finished in the top 15, so strong races on both sides. I'm really proud of how we ran today, some big PR's and some great races."
