Kordah leads Auggies at Hamline

MEET RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Augsburg College men's track and field team competed at the Hamline Invitational and was led by Barinedum Kordah (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) who finished in second-place in the 400-meter dash as well as the long jump.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 100-meter dash, the Auggies had five competitors finish with personal bests -- Preston Blake (11.40 seconds), Isiah Sims (11.53), Deontae Heuer (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Stanley Boyd HS) (11.85), Pong Lee (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eastview HS) (12.06), Josh Kuether (FY, Saint Louis Park, Minn.) (12.35).
• Another five Auggies recorded personal bests in the 200-meter dash -- Sean Adams (JR, Zumbrota, Minn./ZUmbrota-Mazeppa HS) (23.84 seconds), Sims (23.97), Wilson Musabyimana (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park Sr. HS) (24.96), Kuether (25.27), Michael Sell (25.93). 
• Barinedum recorded a personal best as he crossed the finish line in second in the 400-meter dash in 48.46 seconds. Sell and Walter Foster-Bolton (SO, Hopkins, Minn.) finished with personal best times of 55.72 and 58.31 respectively as well. 

• Mohamed Mohamed (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) led Augsburg in the 800-meter run finished the event with a time of 1:59.70, while Mubarik Hanssan (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) recorded a personal best time of 2:02.91. 
• Abdul Salan and Chris Huss (SO, Jordan, Minn.) both recorded personal best times in the 5,000-meter run with times of 15:38.74 and 16:18.15 respectively. 
• Heuer finished 10th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13'7.25".
• Kordah's other second place finish came in the long jump with a distance of 22'1".
• Jesse Kuusisto (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) recorded personal bests in the shot put and hammer throw while also placing eighth in the hammer throw. His shot put distance was 39'11.5", while he launched the hammer 151'6". 
• Logan Hortop (SO, Faribault, Minn) and Adams both recorded personal bests in the javelin with distances of 130'1" and 124'11" respectively. 

UP NEXT
• The Auggies will travel to St. Paul, Minn. for the Concordia University-St. Paul Holst Invitational on Tuesday (4/18).
