Auggies compete at MIAC Decathlon and Hamline UnSaintly

MIAC DECATHLON RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Augsburg College men's track and field team competed at the Hamline Meet of the UnSaintly at Klas Field on the campus of Hamline University.
No team results were recorded, but a number of Auggies shined as the men's team recorded 14 personal records. Sean Adams competed in the MIAC Decathlon at Carleton College on Thursday and Friday as well.

HOW IT HAPPENED - DECATHLON
Sean Adams (JR, Zubrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa HS) competed in the MIAC Decathlon on Thursday and Friday at Carleton College.
• On day one, Adams set or tied personal records in three events (shot put, high jump and the 400-meter dash) on his way to eighth-place. He finished with a total of 2,922 points after recording times of 11.84 seconds in the 100-meter dash, 52.52 seconds in the 400-meter dash, and in the field events he recorded a distance of 19'1.5" in the long jump, 35'3" in the shot put, and he cleared 5'2.5" in the high jump. 
• Day two saw him set three more pesonal records on his way to a personal best seventh-place finish in the MIAC Decathlon with 5,392 points. 
• Adams finished with a time of 16.89 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, and 5:07.66 in the 1,500-meter run. 
• In the field on day two, he recorded distances of 93'0" in the discus and 121'1" in the javelin, then cleared 11'6.5" in the pole vault. 


HOW IT HAPPENED - HAMLINE MEET OF THE UNSAINTLY
• The Auggies set many personal bests in their tune-up before the MIAC Championships next weekend. 
• Three of them came in the 100-meter dash as Preston Blake, Isiah Sims, and Festus Lamin (SO, Roseville, Minn.) all recorded personal bests with times of 11.37, 11.42 and 11.69 seconds. 
Undre Smith-Brewer (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Johnson HS) finished the 100-meter dash in third place with a time of 11.14 seconds, while Blake and Sims finished in ninth and 10th-place. 
• Four more Auggies set personal records in the 200-meter dash, Sims (23.12 seconds), Walter Foster-Bolton (SO, Hopkins, Minn.) (24.44), Wilson Musabyimana (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park Sr HS) (24.44) and Josh Kuether (FY, Saint Louis Park, Minn.) (24.68). 
• Augsburg's top performer in the 200-meter dash was Blake with a time of 22.99 seconds. 
• Musabyimana also competed in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 53.87 seconds. 
• The personal bests continued for the Auggies, as Tedros Kifle (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) and Michael Sell both ran the best 800-meters of their careers with times of 2:09.76 and 2:20.18 respectively. 

• Mohamed Mohamed (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) finished the 1,500-meter run in fourth-place with a personal record time of 3:59.45, while Luke Erickson also recorded a personal best time of 4:06.57 and finished in ninth. 
• Abdul Salan finished in third-place in the 5,000-meter run with a personal record time of 15:37.65.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Fabien Dubbe (SR, New Prague, Minn.), Luke Iverson (SR, Maple Grove, Minn.), Musabyimana and Mohamed finished in fourth with a time of 3:29.24. 
• Deontae Heuer (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Stanley-Boyd HS) cleared 13'9.25" in the pole vault, good enough for fifth-place. 
• Foster-Bolton earned ninth in the long jump with a distance of 18'9.75". 
Logan Hortop (SO, Faribault, Minn.) led the Auggies in the shot put with 10th place finish and a distance of 43'10".
Jesse Kuusisto (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) threw the discuss 129'11" and earned ninth-place, while also tossing the shot put to a personal best 41'6". 
• Mike Kantor (JR, Columbia Heights, Minn.) hurled the discuss just two inches shorter than Kuusisto and finished in 10th-place, and also recorded Augsburg's best distance and a fourth-place finish in the javelin (145'11").

• The MIAC Outdoor Championships will be held at Macalester College in St. Paul and start on Friday (5/8).
